APRIL HIGHLIGHTS
Things I loved and enjoyed in April!
Can’t quite believe it’s already May. But love the weather changing :) Time flies and April was so full of flavors, colours, creations and pleasures. I love this season when everything starts to come back to life, nature blossoms and we also get that different spark within us. Well, there were also some moments that made me grow in a ways I didn’t expect, but all in all grateful for that time! I am happy and excited to share my highlights of the month with you and hope you get inspired :) Enjoy!
What I loved and enjoyed doing in APRIL:
Making epic birthday cake for my Mom and brother - I have already shared how much joy I get from making birthday cakes for people I love and that one was not an exception. I had an inspiration for chocolate and cherries combination and ended up layering my favourite gf chocolate sponge with cherry reduction, chocolate ganache and some mascarpone cookies cream. It was perfection!
Eating meat again - Yes, you heard it right. That was me answering my body calling for more protein, nutrients pre bleed, and replenishment. My body has been screaming for meat for quite some time I guess and I finally listened and decided to give it a go and I am glad I did. I have been re learning how to eat meat again (post on it coming soon) and so far ground beef is my favourite. Either in lasagna, bolognese sauce or browned on the pan with salt and spices, served with rice, veggies or with sweet potatoes and avocado. Delicious!
Getting lovely plates - highlight as I LOVE eating my food from beautiful plates and bowls and one of my favourite ceramic artists in Warsaw made my favourite dessert plates in a breakfast size. To say I am obsessed is to say nothing :) Check her out - @flook.studio on IG.
Shopping and dressing up for summer - what a joy it has been lately to go to the shops and try on linen pants, dresses, skirts, flowy tops etc. It brings a different level of feminine energy to me and that desire to be more connected with that part of self. Definitely therapeutic thing this month. Who can relate?
Finishing the protocol - and by that I mean, eating all I want again after a while. Eating chocolate again has been the biggest highlight, I am not sure how I managed not eating it for 90 days or more. Regaining the sense of freedom has been blissful, experimenting and observing what my body is drawn towards and what it needs and craves. Grateful for both phases.
Posting on Substack regularly - is something that I have been truly loving and focusing on. Writing longer articles, sharing my highlights, recipes, food related content but also starting new series around food and menstrual phases - if you haven’t seen - go check it out! And I recommend you crate an account so you can also follow little notes and bites of inspirations I share daily. Thanks for being here with me! It’s a pleasure creating and inspiring YOU!
Baking and making delicious foods - I have been loving remaking old recipes like chocolate tartlets, courgette bread, cacao truffles, chocolate fudge as well as learning new recipes and what delicious things I can make with meat. Definitely lasagne has the first spot - I found so much pleasure in that simple act of making this dish, followed by nachos with bolognese oven baked or thai style rice and beef. And there were certainly more.
Cooking on a retreat - always brings me mixed feelings and emotions. But I loved creating spring inspired menu and coking for an amazing group of women, introducing new flavors, new textures and new meals to them. The process of creating the menu and then the process of creation in the moment is what I truly love and enjoy. My own universe I guess :) And I have made some truly epic dishes I myself get excited about and will definitely be making them again :)
Deep conversations with self and others - personally something that has been healing on many levels. Not only it helps to get to know the other person but also yourself. Sharing sometimes uncomfortable truth, letting yourself be seen in good and not so good moments. I needed that. But also enjoyed as I always do playing different games with questions and starting conversations about maybe not so common daily topics. Truly expanding and deepening connection. That’s real intimacy I guess.
Aaaaand… that’s a wrap! Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed that little share from the heart! Until the next month :) Lets see what May brings - have a beautiful one!
Best,
Mags!
